    Hey Suave,

First thing, this is going to be a wonderful resource and something I'll look forward to with anticipation. Now I'll be able to be a more regular reader of your mag.
The pdf downloaded relatively fast and the print quality looks good. I will typically use this option as I like to read on the GO-train.
The online version works well. I like the page flip and the resolution is good. I would not recommend reducing the resolution in any way, shape or form. Especially with people now going to larger monitors both on their PC's and laptops. My suggestion is that you provide an option to the subscriber / reader to access either a high / med / low resolution version - depending on their system capability. Low resolution may work for those accessing through their iPhone or Blackberry, for instance, whereas, high resolution would be for those with a media PC, reading on their 50" television screen.
    Some other suggestions:
    1. Get rid of the green screen background and black on green font on the welcome / launch page. I'd suggest either a black background with white font, or any darker background with light font.
    2. The "next page" arrows should be made larger if possible and the skip buttons made smaller.
    3. The skip buttons should skip you to the next article within the magazine i.e. those listed in the table of contents. If you really want the reader to just get to the front or back of the mag. with these buttions then add an specific "front page / back page " button.

Question: Would you consider providing a pdf version available on your site for back issues? If at least, going back to Dec/Jan of this year but it would be great to be able to download and keep old issues as well?

Looking good - all the best with it.

    Cheers.

Thank you very much for the suggestions SoundGame! I suppose that you are correct about the fact that many people are now using pretty large monitors so the high resolution of the PDF/online edition should be of good enough quality. The trouble with having an option for low/medium/high res is that each would have to be generated separately and then stored as a separate file (this would take additional time and storage space). Hence, I may just stick with the high res version as is.

Depending on how many people will read the digital edition (statistics will show) I may consider developing an iPhone app that will feature a dedicated edition just for the iPhone.

For now I don't have a plan to include past editions online (although this is a great suggestion). The cost of doing this is simply too prohibitive. Besides, most of the feature articles/reviews that we ran in the print magazine are available on the website.

Default Zinio Reader and digital world

I have used Zinio Reader for a number of years now with great success, and my wife loves it to.

Saying that a hi res pdf would work equally well, I much prefer digital over print.

At work unless I have to sign it, it just does not get printed, Outlook, One Note, Sharepoint, and Bluebeam PDF Revu take care of all my needs.

My main computer at work is a "hotrod" netbook.

Nice job on the digital spread. I'm so happy now that I can get access to the full issue every month.

Suggestion: can you setup to have subscribers to the Forum and or Canada HiFi's site, receive an automatic email of the magazine or a link to it each month. That would be cool. I'd subscribe to getting notices of new content on the site and/or when the new edition of the magazine gets posted.

    Cheers

I'm glad to hear that you'll be able to enjoy the digital edition SoundGame!

It would certainly be nice to have something in place to notify those interested in finding out when the digital edition is released although I can't think of a way of automating this. For the time being, I will post an annoucement on the home page of www.canadahifi.com and on the forum to let everyone know that a new edition is available.
