Thanks for the additional suggestions Pedal12.

I know that both Play De Record and The Beat Goes On are both record shops. But can you tell us what genres of music we can find in each?

old school, house, hiphop,R&B Funk, Jazz, they have a pretty wide variety.. 70's 60's classics. And a lot of hard to find vinyl. The guys tend to be very helpful. I don't do vinyl anymore. but it still has a warm spot in my heart.

Let me add one more store to the list. This place is really great for high quality CDs, SACDs and vinyl.

    I second that Freetoojazz!

I first learned about http://www.aux33tours.com/ at the Salon Son et Image (audio video show) in Montreal. They always bring a nice selection of vinyl to sell at the show.

Last summer when I went on a trip to Montreal... I went specifically to visit their store and got some really nice records!

Thanks for sharing this with us Freetoojazz. I would definitely go and check it out if I lived in Montreal!

Let us know what you end up buying.

On a slightly different topic - I've heard that there is a "vinyl show and sale" that takes place in Toronto once a year. Has anyone heard about this? When does it take place?

I buy a lot of new records online, at web shops like Insound and Aural exploits. In Vancouver I like Zulu Records for used rock records and Sikoras for classical. I also buy new records at the big HMV downtown, when they have what I'm looking for.
