Does anyone have any listening experience with the Moon 300d through a Squeezebox with internet radio ? I am presently using an older Enlightened Audio 7000Mk iii now and everything sounds pretty good including music from itunes through the Squeezebox. I am wondering if the cost is worth the upgrade knowing I'm using old technology. Never the less $1600 is a lot of money for me. Thanks.

I'm new to Canada Hi Fi but couldn't find the space where one introduces himself.

Hi Brewster55, I haven't listened to any internet radio through the 300D, but I'll give it a shot. My Apple TV is connected to the DAC so it should be an easy test. Results should be similar to using the Squeezebox.

Hi brewster55 - I had some time on the weekend to listen to some internet radio fed from my ATV through the Simaudio DAC and the sound was surprisingly good for the most part. The quality of course varied from station to station, with some being very good and some being quite bad.

Thanks for the information Spudso. I have internet radio now through a Squeezebox and an Enlightened Audio 7000 DAC and it sounds pretty good. I have been in touch with UHF in Montreal over the weekend and they are sending me a 100D and a 300D. I will get one of them before Christmas if not both. I believe the 100D for Internet radio will make a substantial difference and I appreciate your feedback.

Quite frankly I'm surprised that there wasn't greater sound.....like astonishing or the likes. I went by reviews as I have no way of listening. So when you're talking 300D then obviously I can expect less. I've spent money in worse ways. Thanks Spudso

Don't get me wrong, the few stations that i listened to were quite decent. The sound quality was completely dependent on the quality of the source. I guess the reason for me not being wowed, is that after hearing how stunning CDs sound through the DAC its hard to get excited over the sound quality of the compressed streams from the internet.

How is the 300D with internet radio? My time is almost up to upgrade. I wanna know if it's a decent improvement. Maybe the guys will let me borrow it for a night and try... All I do is hook up my Apple TV as well and listen to internet radio. Bassdrive. Amsterdam Trance Radio. All Chilled. He heh...I've gone so electronic...

Hi Mike - I only just saw this so I am not sure if you have already upgraded. I don't listen to much internet radio but when I do I find it quite listenable whether I use my ATV or Squeezebox Touch. Some sound better than others. Jazz 91 via the Touch sounds pretty darn good.
