Samsung Plasma Firmware 1035.0 Version Upgrade - Feb 2011
My mistake, it looks like an upgrade for Plasmas only. A new firmware upgrade appears on the Samsung support page. Its dated Feb 21, 2011. This is the 4th upgrade for the 8000 but applies to both the 6000 and 7000 series.

Once on the page, if you don't see the file on the table at the bottom, click on Firmware on the tab above table to display the file. Click on the far right "exe" blue button to download.

Thank you for the heads up on this LesIsTechSavy! You'll notice that I replaced your link above with one to the Samsung US site because I could not find the new firmware update at the link that you specified.
Downloading my update right now...
Here's a description of what the 1035.0 firmware consists of:
1. Title
2010 PDP TV Firmware (Folder Name: T-VALAUSC, Version : 1035.0)
2. Applicable Model
PDP C6400, C6500, C7000, C8000
3. Carrier or Corporate Customer
All Customer
4. Description
Support Netflix 2.1 and MLB.tv apps.
And this firmware prevents below issues
. 3D picture judders when ''Motion Judder Canceler'' is set to ''Smooth'' or ''Standard''.
. ''USB Power Overload'' message pops up even USB port is not connected
. HDMI ports recognition error and signal loose
. Plug & Play is displayed whenver turning on TV.

Just to be on the safe side, I double checked the Canadian site, I hope this link works. Don't forget to click on Firmware to see the update, click on exe icon to download file.

I noticed that one of the points you mentioned suggest that this might be the fix for the MLB app, I will await you letting us know. I am the cautious type, I always give firmware updates a few days to circulate before I jump on board

The update went smoothly and the Netflix icon is on the main screen (I can't remember if it was there previously or not). The MLB app is still not available for download however - for that matter there are still no sports apps for download in Canada at all.
