    Is this a Motorola box? What year is the box? If it's one of the older boxes, DVI output can be activated on the box. The cable company can guide you through it on the phone. DVI does not send audio, just video, so you will need to run a set of audio cables to the TV or stereo along with it. For image quality on cable/satellite, there is no difference with DVI or HDMI. Same signal. Different connector.

    The box in question was a Cisco 4642. I got a replacement and hooked it up directly to the TV and it worked, Hooking it up to my Integra 40.3 wasn't so successful. It appears the Integra won't pass the signal.Off to the repair shop for it.
    On a happier note, the set is amazing. I set the picture by eye and it looks pretty darn good! As soon as I get past the receiver issue I\ll save up a few bucks and get it professionally calibrated.
    Then I'll see what it can really do.
