    Default Tron: Legacy Blu-ray 3D

I just picked up Tron on 3D Blu-ray this weekend. I've never watched the original but from the Tron previews I've seen, the visuals of this film should lend themselves very well to the 3D format, as long as it's done properly. Are you planning on picking this one up LesIsTechSavy? Anyone have any thoughts on this movie?

I'll post my comments here later this week when I've had a chance to watch it.

I saw the movie - 2D version Blu-ray and quite liked it. The visuals were very neat. I wouldn't say it was up there with my tops for Sci-Fi but it was very entertaining...to tell you the truth...I liked Mars Needs Mom's better.

Let me know your thoughts once you've seen it Suave.

Bye the way....can't go without saying that Olivia Wilde looks...mmmm

Tron: Legacy may not offer an outstanding storyline, but nevertheless should keep most viewers well entertained, especially sci-fi fans. I thoroughly enjoyed it beginning to end, and appreciated that it stayed within the two hour mark (I’m not a fan of long dragged out movies).

The visual presentation is quite spectacular, particularly in all the virtual world scenes. Even when watching the movie in 3D, only the virtual world scenes are actually in 3D. The virtual environments, glowing costumes and vehicles look incredible and truly come alive in 3D. The 3D in this movie is rather subtle and I felt like I would appreciate a little more depth/dimensionality at times. The great news is however that the 3D is done very well in that I did not see any image crosstalk. On a good quality plasma capable of deep blacks, like my Samsung, this movie will look incredible.

The DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack is like sweet, sweet candy. Produced by Daft Punk, the soundtrack does a tremendous job at creating a sonic landscape which perfectly matches each scene and environment. There are loads of low frequencies passages and futuristic, out of this world audio effects. I’m afraid that without a good sound system you’ll miss half of what makes this a great film.

Overall, I’m a pretty big fan and will definitely be showing some scenes to friends who can appreciate this kind of stuff

I did pick up a copy, but have not watched it. Will give my review as soon as I do.

Just a note to those who are buying 3D BlueRays, Best Buy and Future Shop usually have them discounted on the day of reLease.

Just make sure to watch it at a time when you can play it sufficiently loud so that you'll get the full benefit of the awesome soundtrack!
