Let's not forget about the Unison Research Simply Italy that I just reviewed. This amp looked amazing on my audio rack... it was very hard to let it go after the review.

Here's a cool shot of it in the dark:

I just saw the Performance in real life recently and it's also a good looking piece... although it doesn't have quite the same sleek appeal (appearance wise) at least to me. Nevertheless, my recent experience with the Simply Italy certainly got me very interested in the Unison Research brand and I'm thinking it might be nice to bring in one of their mid-level tube amps in for a future review.

I think the whole line is very nice looking.
We were going to use the S9 integrated at SSI, however we decided on the Audia Flight Two in order to demonstate that my speakers work just as well with SS amplifiers.
I am going to lobby to use the S9 at TAVES.

That sounds great Ron - it is certainly important to show that speakers can work just as well with solid state and tube amps. I would imagine the Unison Research S9 would sound great with your speakers at TAVES

There is just something about well done tubes that just warms my soul.

Here's another one of my favourite tube amps - the McIntosh 275 - this is the 50th Anniversary Edition. How sweet does that look! I wonder what the green glow is around the bases of the small tubes - it that the glow of the tubes themselves or just a picture effect?

Hi Suave , I've bought many tubes in my life (although they were for guitar amplifiers). It's still a tube for use with audio. I've never seen tubes that glowed this colour. I checked the website and found no info on this. I doubt it's a picture effect. It looks really nice though. Imagine multi coloured tubes in the same audio device.

I wonder if there are green LEDs in the tube sockets. I know on their TTs they make the platter glow.
