    Default My 3-way active system

    Hi Folks
    Here is my both active systems and I would like to use this thread as an active speakers discussion as far I could not find any post on this subject here.
    Your comments or questions are more then welcome.
    I have two separate audio racks.One holds the amps and active crossover and the second one is located in siting area which holds the source components.
    Here is the source rack in siting area.

    From top down:
    Bryston BDP-1
    Bryston BDA-1
    Accuphase DP55v as transport
    Accuphase DC91 reference DAC(not for hi-res)
    Sonic Frontiers Phono1
    Sonic Frontiers Line 2
    Here is my first active speakers.The speakers are build by myself and the box is prototype and when I finished I will post a picture.

    On the rack from top down:
    Pass Labs XVR1 3-way active crossover
    Bryston 4BSST(driving the tweeters)
    Bryston 4BSST(driving the midrange 1X6")
    Bryston 7BSST(driving bass drivers 2X10" left)
    Bryston 7BSST(driving bass drivers 2X10" right)
    This one is my second active system which is build by myself again and this one is a well known ORION ACTIVE.I will invite everyone to go to this link and see the whole construction of this speakers and the pictures.I only sent the aluminum out to anodize it other then that I did all the machining ,wood work etc...

    It looks like you've got yourself two very impressive systems VASA61 - thank you so much for sharing the pics and the descriptions with us. Even more impressive is the fact that you built both speakers and crossovers yourself

    Could you tell us what inspired you to build two custom active speaker systems?

    Also, why did you decide to use external crossovers (as opposed to building them inside the speaker cabinets as most speaker manufacturers do)? Is there an advantage to this approach?
