Greetings everyone
I come here on the suggestion of a fellow audiophile to talk about a hobby I have been in since the mid 70's when my Dad gave me a system of his which included Yamaha electronics and turntable as well as AR speakers. Thanks to him I have been addicted ever since and will end up retiring later than my wife believes
I am fortunate to have a willing partner (she also loves to listen to music) in this hobby of mine and I am grateful all of the time for her patience and understanding. Oh, and also for allowing me to have a man cave for my toys.
My interest in hi-fi is pretty much limited to 2 channel. I have dabbled in multi channel, home theatre but it wasn't long lived.
As far as music goes, I enjoy pretty much anything that is well recorded, both analog and digital though, I am exclusively digital these days, after converting all of my favourite vinyl into digital files a few years ago. I no longer use a CD player and am discless and stream my files throughout my home via various Squeezebox units. I'm fanatical about digital audio and, in particular, the technical side of all things digital.
I run several rigs scattered around my home, in the garage and pool side. I work out of my home so am able to listen to as much music as my work allows. Fortunately that is plenty.
My office setup: Acer Aspire One netbook --> Squeezebox Touch --> Neko D100 DAC --> Sonic Frontiers SFL2 preamp --> Quicksilver 8417 power amps --> Elipson Colonne speakers.
My main rig goes Acer Aspire One netbook (using Blackberry Playbook running Music2Touch as remote) --> Squeezebox Transporter (slave) --> Lessloss 2004 DAC (master) --> Sonic Frontiers SFL-2 --> Innersound ESL800 --> Martin Logan CLS IIZ speakers.
My thanks to Suave for offering up this place for us Canucks to chat and also for help re-resurrecting an audio show in TO.
Cheers,
- Kerry

Hello Kerry and welcome to the forum! Thank you for the kind words about the forum and the show. My apologies for the late welcome message - but I had a crazy week preparing the latest issue of CANADA HiFi for print (it just went to the printing house last night)... now I can breate
Thank you for detailing your interests in audio and your systems - it's always great to know what everyone's into. It certainly helps to spark some conversations and ideas too. It sounds like you're a music fan at heart and built yourself two very nice systems. Like you, I work mostly from a home office and hence have the opportunity to listen to music all day, every day and I couldn't be happier! My girlfriend also loves music and this is certainly a good thing because she doesn't mind the fact that I play music and test equipment all the time
Although I still listen to vinyl and CDs on a regular basis, I now listen primarly to digital audio (ever since I bought the Bryston BDP-1 digital player and BDA-1 DAC anyway). This duo gives me performance that I need and the sleekest control interface I could think of.
Do you have any upgrade plans? Or are you looking to add anything to your audio in the coming months?

Hi, Suave. I appreciate the warm welcome and look forward to continued debate round these parts.
Not sure what direction, if any, I'll take with component changes in the future. If I had to guess it would be DAC related, as I seem to change them up fairly often. The NAD M51 has piqued my interest so that may be on the radar.
Cheers,
- Kerry
