3D access
Locted in Canada with ROGERS as HD TV provider.
I have a 3D TV ( at least for watching movies ).
Want to see Wimbledon in 3D which ESPN is broadcasting live.
Likewise Olympics. How do I get the 3D broadcast.
Surprisingly at 1st pass ROGERS customer service wasn't able to help me.

Welcome to the forum David! Where did you read that this was suppose to be aired to Rogers customers?
The only info I could find about this is the annoucement that some movie theatres in Canada will be broadcasting the finals in 3D. Here's the press release from Cineplex:

I was hoping that it would be possible to get some of the 3D NBC coverage if you use a digital antenna. The 3D portions including the opening and closing ceremonies will be 24hr delayed. I was hoping that the Buffalo NBC affiliate would pick up the 3D feed and slot it in at some late night/early morning slot. I have not seen any indication that this will happen as of today.
Over the air HD from Buffalo is not the best so the 3D signal may be useless.
Here is a listing of available over the air HD in the GTA

3D in canada - or lack there of
Appears Cdn Olympic broadcast will not carry 3D. US carriers ( eg: NBC) will.
Does that mean we are blocked out in Canada even if we access the NBC coverage.
(see below) or get BBC feed thru' "Chanfeed"?
Any advise , again, most greatly appreciated.

No 3D Olympics coverage in Canada
By Staff
The Canadian Press
TORONTO – It looks like Canadians won’t get a chance to see any 3D coverage of the London Olympics.
Adam Ashton, president of Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium, says providing coverage of some of the events in 3D proved to be too expensive.
He also says the number of Canadians who actually own a 3D TV was another discouraging factor.
The consortium will air more than 5,500 hours of coverage — when combining TV broadcasts and online streaming — during the 17 days of the Olympics.
TV coverage will air on CTV, TSN, Sportsnet, OLN, RDS, V, OMNI.1, OMNI.2 and ATN.
In the U.S., NBC plans to air 242 hours of 3D coverage, including the opening and closing ceremonies. The BBC has also announced 3D plans

Thanks for chiming in on this LesIsTechSavy. Based on the article quote above by David, it looks like Canadians won't be able to catch any of the 3D Olympic coverage... what a shame

High tech equipment will be the backbone of London Olympics
I this point I have to be hopefull there will be a 3D Blu Ray of the London 2012 Olympic Highlights
Well just think of the other goodies we here in Canada are missing out on. Ultra High Definition 7680 x 4320
not to mention some 33 3D Cameras to bring all the action up close and personal. The UK will be getting there 3D live while NBC and Fios will do a 24 delay
Read article at risk of feeling shunned
Need one of those Ultra HD TVs
