Kinda funny you mention the Focals, as it was a choice between them and the Staffs when I purchased mine. I wish I could remember the Model number (gotta love getting a little older).

I don't blame you John72953 - both Totem and Focal make fantastic sounding speakers.Kinda funny you mention the Focals, as it was a choice between them and the Staffs when I purchased mine.
Here's a more up to date pic of my system:
The recent additions to my system include the:
- Clearaudio Concept turntable
- Alpha Design Labs GT40 USB DAC with Phono Stage (by Furutech)
- Cardas Clear Light speaker cables
- Focal Electra 1008 Be II speakers
- Target speaker stands (the most solid, largest top-plate stands I could find!)

Thumbs up!
Thanks for the nice comments guysMy system has changed yet again since I posted the above pic. I currently have a pair of Monitor Audio Gold GX 200 tower speakers in the system, which I just started testing for the Oct/Nov 2011 issue. I'll post an updated pic soon...

sweet. I should take a listen... I just had my hearing checked - and all good!! I was put in a soundproofed room, very small, with head set...lady pushes buttons with frequency tones and I click a button when I can hear it. Apparently I'm flat from 250-500, down 5dB at 1000-4000, and +5dB from 6000-8000+. apparently that's normal!! ha hah... The only problem is that at times I could hear the pulse in my head, my heartbeat, etc. far more than the tones!!
Suave, nice system. Very Classe!!
Hey everyone - I just wanted to share a couple of updated pics of my reference 2-channel system.
New in the system are the Reev Designs Aatma speakers (www.reevdesigns.com) which just arrived at my house for review. Reev Designs is a new Canadian speaker manufacturer and Aatma is its first speaker model - it was introduced for the very first time at the recent Toronto Audio Video Entertainment Show (TAVES). I listened to the speakers at the show very briefly and something about them caught my attention so I decided to bring in a pair for review. I'll start a new thread with listening comments in the speaker thread soon...
As evidenced in the pictures, I've also been playing around with Furutech's new Destat II (dust and static charge remover designed for LPs, all discs types, cables and even AV components themselves).

As my 2-channel music system continued to grow over the last few years, so did my Target HiFi audio rack. As you can see in the above images, my rack grew to be rather tall and messy looking. A rack this tall is also said to be detrimental to sound quality.
The solution? Upgrade to a double width audio rack. I scoped out a gorgeous Burmester V6 rack at the 2012 TAVES and decided to make the purchase. This is one of the most elegant looking audio racks I've seen to date and features an incredibly solid construction. It has an exotic dark wood veneer finish called Macassar and L-shaped posts on all corners made from anodised aluminium. A beutiful Burmester logo plaque in the middle of the bottom shelf rounds out the package. I love the fact that a double width rack allows me to setup both my turntable and the tube amp side-by-side on the top shelf (two pieces which I think are best displayed on the top of the rack). This past weekend I set up in my listening room:
More pictures and info about this rack can be found here: http://www.burmester.de/en/produkte/...roduct=2,11,28
BTW - if anyone is interested in buying the Target HiFi rack from me, I'll be glad to sell it anyone on the forum for a very special price - just PM me![]()
